The Minister of the Environment has requested that Waste Diversion Ontario undertake a study on the state of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) management in Ontario. Waste Diversion Ontario established a WEEE Working Group, comprised of stewards and stakeholders, to participate in the study process and retained consultants to undertake a series of tasks to support the study.

The WDO Board of Directors approved the WEEE Study on July 18, 2005 and forwarded the plan to the Minister by the submission date of July 20, 2005.
